Hundred Magazine
Hundredmag.com
Hundred Magazine is more than a publication—it’s a celebration of character, community, and the wildly capable women shaping Oklahoma City. Founded by Hannah Schmitt in 2021, it annually honors 100 women not for titles or sponsorships, but for who they are. For the third and fourth issues, we led photography, design, and production from concept to print. Our challenge: highlight each woman’s individuality while maintaining a cohesive reading experience. Each profile opens with a nominator quote and flows into a thoughtful Q&A.

Magazine Design & Art Direction
Beginning with Issue 03, Toast has led the design and creative direction for Hundred Magazine. Our primary goal was to strengthen visual hierarchy while elevating the narrative flow of each interview. Opening nominator quotes were treated as visual anchors, establishing an emotional entry point for every profile, while the Q&A format allowed each story to unfold in an authentic, conversational way. Subtle layout variations helped distinguish individual profiles while maintaining a cohesive editorial voice throughout the publication.
From cover design to interior spreads, every decision was made with print in mind, balancing elegance with clarity and ensuring the final piece felt both collectible and approachable.
In addition to designing the magazine, we provided strategic consultation on the website to ensure a cohesive brand experience and a streamlined online purchasing journey. Hundredmag.com serves as the digital home base for the project, designed to both promote the mission of Hundred Magazine and support direct-to-consumer sales.
“What a wonderful and uplifting project. It looks incredible! Thank you for your effort and creativity!”
— adrian young, Hundred magazine honoree

Photography played a central role in capturing the spirit of each honoree. For each issue, portraits were shot in locations selected for their rich textures, natural light, and art deco–inspired architectural details. By working within a consistent architectural environment, we established a unified visual language while still allowing each subject’s personality to shine through.
Framing, posture, styling, and micro-locations within each space were thoughtfully varied to ensure no two portraits felt the same. Honorees were invited into the image selection and proofing process, reinforcing the collaborative nature of the project and ensuring each woman felt accurately and respectfully represented.
The result is a portrait series that feels intimate, confident, and deeply personal, supporting the magazine’s mission to celebrate women as they are, not as they are expected to be.
